Welcome to the official website of Patrick House!

Twenty-eight-year-old Patrick didn’t realize he had any health issues before The Biggest Loser, but soon discovered he had sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic. It wasn’t until Patrick was in college that he really started putting on weight. While pursuing his degree in business management at Delta State University, he was an offensive lineman for the school’s football team and consumed large quantities of food to maintain that position. An injury forced him to stop playing, but he continued to maintain the same diet. Now 400 pounds, married, and the father of two young boys, Patrick’s weight affects every aspect of his life – from choosing restaurants with seating that can accommodate his large size, to being unable to go on rides with his sons at the state fair. Determined to have a better, healthier life with his wife and family, Patrick looks forward to riding roller coasters at amusements parks, playing with and coaching his sons, and not using seatbelt extenders on the plane.

    Patrick,

Congratulations! What a major life accomplishment! What discipline! You are a role model to us all!

I hope to lose 150 lbs. I had lost 90 lbs in the late ’80s by exercising and eating mostly fruits and vegetables. I kept it off 7 years.

But while I was in a bad relationship, I gradually put it back on. For me, it’s the food-mood connection. And most recently, I had a hip injury that caused me pain standing or walking. Thanks to my chiropractor, the injury is healed, but it is so challenging to start all over with all my muscle tone gone.

    Any suggestions?

Congrats Patrick! I was on a flight from Memphis to LAX on Sunday morning (12/12) and your parents sat one row in front of me across the aisle. They were talking about how proud they are and were encouraging everyone to “root for Patrick.” So glad you won and you look fabulous! Keep up the great work and I love that you will be inspiring kids in your new job.

Way to go Patrick, I was sitting on the edge of my seat last night and screamed and cried when you weighed in and won. I am from Vicksburg, MS, your hometown right now, and my whole family was rooting for you from day one, not just because you were from Vicksburg, but because you are such a humble person. May God continue to bless you and your family in your new endeavors.

Congratulations, Patrick! When I saw you come onto the stage I knew you’d won it! I lost 20 pounds earlier this year, having been inspired by Danny on Season 8. I need to lose about that much more so I’m “remotivating” myself by watching all of your season’s successes. Everyone looks wonderful!

Patrick, congratulations! You and everyone else on the show are inspirations! I started a diet/lifestyle change myself Oct. 1. I was 350 pounds and now I’m close to 290. My plan is to keep the diet going until I lose all of the weight and there will be a lifestyle change, too. Watching Biggest Loser and all of your hard work is an inspiration to keep going all of the way! I still have anywhere from 100 to 150 pounds to lose, but I know I can do it! I will be reading your tips to make things easier for myself! Again, congratulations and keep up the good work! You’re a role model and inspiration!

Congratz! Ben Stiller is one of my favorite actors/comedians. I just watched you on an interview and popped into your website. You seem nice and my mother is working on her weight after a heart scare and is down 20lbs using weight watchers, so proud of her, thought I would pop in here and see what you had to offer and maybe send her this way too. She too has to weigh and measure everything and unlike you, cant afford the premeasured meals sent to her house. Keep up the good work, Im off to see all that you have here and bless you and your wonderful family on your success. I too got laid off this year and its tough!

Patrick I was so thrilled to see you win. Having been out of work for 3 years and becoming obese, it was so exciting for me to see someone who really needs the money not only win it but also become healthy again for your children. Please also congratulate you wife on her weight loss that she did all by herself. You both are an inspiration to all and if I can ever get out the funk I’m in because of my weight gain and can ever afford the Biggest Loser food plan, I’m going to try to do as both of you have done and become healthier. Good Luck with your school job. You REALLY are paying in forward to those teenagers who will be fortunate enough to be around you.

Patrick, how do you stop eating when you know you shouldn’t be. Most of the time, I keep eating even when I should not be. Just shoving the food in my mouth. I am on the verge of insulin, take oral meds and my blood pressure was 202/109 yesterday. So many meds every day. One hundred pounds over weight. I do need some kind of help. Thank you for reading me.

What a great job you did. You are really an inspiration to many.
I would love an opportunity as you did but know it’s not realistic.
I know I must loose weight, however I can’t find the motivation. That is really pathetic.
I have an under active thyroid and just had one lobe removed this past august. I find it very difficult to loose weight when I have tried. I know that is part of my frustration and feel like a failure.
I am also a very picky eater and dislike almost all veggies. To me that makes eating healthier very difficult.
I will keep my eye posted to see if other people have suggestions on similar issues and any advise you give.
Thanks for all you have and will be sharing.
    Yours truly,
    Kim

So happy that you won, Patrick! I’ve been rooting for you since day one. I can relate with not being able to ride roller coasters or fit into some restaurant booths. Now you can! I lost 60 lbs since Jan 2010 and in October I was able to celebrate my honeymoon at six flags! What a joy to be able to ride roller coasters with my husband!

@ Kim- I have hypothyroidism as well and happen to be a very picky eater. I don’t like most vegetables. What is helping me to lose weight is to make small changes in my diet that will really add up. I switched to light bread, Natures Own makes a bread that is only 35 cal per slice! (you save 70 cal when you use this bread to make a sandwich)
-switch to egg whites (try doing gradually if need be)
-eat your carb (rice, potatoes, pasta) at lunch instead of dinner
    -

  41. Jennifer
    Posted December 16, 2010 at 6:21 pm | Permalink

    @ Kim (continued)
-try switching to whole wheat pasta, brown rice
-drink lots of water (I know we always hear this, but its really helpful) Google the “water cure” for benefits of drinking water
    - lean meat & any vegetable you do like for dinner
-remember- you can make these changes in gradual steps so that you are more likely to stick to them.

**If you really need to jumpstart your weight loss, talk to your doctor about the HCG Diet. It’s not very popular because it involves self-administered hormone injections, but you lose a pound per day! It really works. If you want to read up on it, check out http://hcgdietinfo.com/ If you decide to try this diet, do NOT order online, and do NOT get the oral drops. You should go to a pcp at a large clinic who can prescribe hcg, so you know you’re getting the true substance. Remember, you may lose weight quickly, but you still want to adapt a lifestyle of healthy eating & physical activity to keep the weight off.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TRYING TO GET HEALTHIER!

What is it with people wanting you to give the car back? Ada gave you that car. She knew what she was doing when she stopped at the top of the stairs. This is just dumb, people. Stop asking about it. If Patrick gives it back, great. If not, great.
